Today, like I do every year, I attended the Memorial Day Ceremony at the National Cemetery in the Presidio of San Fransisco. As I was photographing people as they walked up suddenly Bernie came into frame (and focus). Me, and everyone else, was floored.
His attendance was not announced ahead of time.
He just sat there quietly. His attendance was announced but that was it. He made no speeches. It was quite the surprise. via Ed Caspersen
